Why Testing and Tagging are Necessary
Through the Work Health and Safety Act, the Australian Government requires that every business and all work environments must be safe and free from all man-made disasters, which include electrical wiring mishaps. The act also says that all appliances, electrical connections and circuits, and all workplace entities that connected to electricity must be kept sound and in good working order on a daily basis.
This service must be accompanied with a test tag bearing the test date, appliance/electrical lead type/name, a license number from a qualified and licensed testing entity. The testing and tagging records must be kept for records purposes and must be shown to employees so that they know they are working in a ‘certified safe’ place.
